Supernatural : Dean Winchester

This is a "just 'cause" kind of thing. Dean Winchester being like, one of the best characters of all times and all, it's kind of overdue. Here you go.

Long live Jensen Ackles !

Supernatural : "Death Ends A Life, Not A Relationship" (Robert Benchley)

This might be my favorite episode of the season. It's the episode where Bobby dies. Don't get me wrong I loved Bobby and I hated that he died but the episode was just amazing. Plus, I love tortured Dean !

So at the end of the previous episode, Bobby was shot in the head by the big bad Roman. And now he's in a coma. So his reaper comes to fetch him but of course, he refuses.

He's reliving past memories so at some point after talking to his wife for a bit he comes across Rufus. And Rufus tells him that if he wants to wake up he has to go into his darkest memories and only there can he find a door back to the waking world. Awake world ? Awaken ? Anyway !

So Bobby and Rufus go looking for dark memories ! And the first one is about his wife. The one he killed because she was possessed by a demon. And he remembers a fight that happened 3 days before she was possessed.

She's upset because he doesn't want to have kids and she does, we'll later find out that the reason he doesn't want kids is because he's scared he's gonna turn into his father.

Poor Bobby just stands there and take it it's really hart-breaking but when he goes out the door he doesn't wake up so they have to dig deeper.

So a little while after we finally get the whole scene of his worst memory. And it's about his dad. The infamous.

He's a drunk and an asshole. Basically he beats his wife and his kid, so at first Bobby is sort of overwhelmed and he just stares at the scene. Himself as a little boy dropping a glass of milk and the reaction of his father.

But then Bobby speaks up when his father tells him he's a bad kid. And then sparks fly out.

Adult Bobby stands up for himself, he tells his father everything he's always hated him for and it's amazing. My personal favorite : "Kids ain't supposed to be grateful ! They're supposed to eat your food and break your heart, you selfish dick !"

And then he tells him he's the reason he never had kids of his own. He father's like "You break everything you touch" and then Bobby talks about Sam and Dean, two boys he adopted and says they grew up heroes. So f#ckin sad.

Luckily little boy Bobby show up and shoots the old man. And his sweet, thoughtful and caring mother basically tells him he's gonna go to hell for doing that. You're welcome bitch.

And so finally, after reliving his worst memory, Bobby wakes up and has time to give Sam and Dean the information he got on the Leviathans. But then he dies.

This false hope thing is really horrible, just look at Dean.

Yeah ! You're alive !

Hey, you still there ?

And then Bobby. Oh Bobby. The reaper comes again, tells him the bullet in his brain destroyed every memory he'd ever had but this one : movie night with the boys. It's depressing enough but when he says "Glad I saved the best for last" I can literally feel my heart break into a thousand little pieces.

And it's not much of a suspense. The reaper gives Bobby a choice. Come or stay. As we know, Bobby decided to stay as a ghost to help the boys finish the job. Well Jim Beaver thank you for these 7  years of Supernatural. Farewell my friend, you'll be missed.

Supernatural Finale : Guess That Means Sammy's The Fittest

Well, that's the end of season 7. I can't believe I've been watching this show for 4 years now. Season 5 should have been the last but the CW decided to keep it going a little longer. We're 2 seasons later and apparently not only is there gonna be a season 8 but also a 9th !

I have to admit I'm glad but I'm a little scared too. I mean it's been 7 years, this is a good show but like I said it was supposed to end after season 5. I was happy back then too, I didn't want it to end quite just yet. And yet season 6 was a major disappointment. Season 7 was better, Dick has been one of the best bad guys ever, but still, the way I see it Supernatural is on thin ice. From what I heard, the producer is going to be replaced by a writer who worked on the earlier seasons. I'm hoping it'll show in the story.

As many other great things, season 5 introduced Crowley. Oh, Crowley. The king of hell with a British accent and an attitude. Mark Sheppard is absolutely perfect for the part and Crowley is an extremely well-written character this show can never afford to lose.

Misha Collins is about just as important but it's mostly because his character is so central. He's like the central pillar of this thing. He just feels safe. When really he's not but he's reliable and so much power in someone so naive makes him strangely endearing.

He was gone for a while this season and recently came back. Except he's broken, meaning he's in his own world, he has little sense of reality and has become much more impressionable. And it's been great to watch.

He spends most of his time talking about cat penises, monkeys or playing twister, making sandwiches and offering honey as an apology for enslaving the king of hell. He's made me realize how big a part humor plays in the show.

Anyway, the big bad of season 7 was Dick Roman. Kind of the king of Leviathans. He was a pleasure to watch, maybe not as much as Lucifer was, but close. But he's dead now. Sigh.

Only problem is, when they killed him, Cass' and Dean were sucked into Purgatory. Worse than hell, Purgatory is where all the monsters "come to prey upon each other for all eternity", it's where Dick is from. It's where is mommy was from. And all of her other children.

After Cass' briefly explains this to Dean he vanishes and Dean is left alone in some dark woods, surrounded by the rest of Dick's family. And, end of the season. Well good luck on this one.

This leaves poor Sammy all alone in the real world. Dick's dead, they saved the world (again) but his big brother is gone, so's Cass' and Crowley took "what's-his-face" the prophet (I want to call him Glenn for some reason ...) on his way out. Survival of the fittest my ass ! Sam's not the fittest, Sam sucks. All he ever does is feel guilty, cry a little, then be soulless for a while, then feel guilty again, cry some more and talk to Satan. And that's the only one left ?

I do want to see season 8 but it's not like I can't wait a few month, I honestly think I could wait a year. Although, objectively, this was a nice finale with a good cliffhanger, I don't really care. I mean I want to know what's gonna happen but I just don't care enough to guess and imagine what it will be like. Well at least I'm pleased with the idea of yet another season, that's a start. See you in a few months Supernatural, have a nice summer.

Supernatural : Family Reunion

Last week in Supernatural, Bobby finally came back - really, with the boys seeing him and all ! I have been waiting for this moment since he died, now it finally happened and it sucked ...
So there was this chick, a friend of Bobby's, she needed help on some case or something so she called Sam and Dean but for some reason she couldn't wait for them so she went to the haunted house alone and of course she was killed by an angry ghost.

So when the boys came to the house they were like "Dude she's not picking up, maybe something happened to her !" Gee, you think ?

But, since Bobby is a ghost, he was able to get the story before them. First, he had a little heart to heart with his bestie, then he actually started asking questions to one of the hundred other ghosts trapped in the house. And thanks to that guy, he learned how to manifest himself within one episode !

And so came the long-awaited "Huh, you're still here !" moment. Except it sucked. First it was kinda' good, they were getting emotional and all but then Dean had to ruin everything and be all serious.

For Dean, Bobby should've gone with the reaper to heaven where he could've been happy, and finally get some rest and have some fun after all this fighting. But Bobby decided to stay to "finish the work" and also because he couldn't quite bring himself to leave his boys just yet, and that was actually a very sweet moment way back in episode 10.

So now it's all conflicted emotions, they don't know what to do but apparently, for the two brothers, this cannot be a definitive solution. But they'll probably find a way to send him to heaven, I mean they're not gonna just off him, right ?
